About NASA SEWP

The NASA SEWP (Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement), pronounced "soup", provides the latest Information Technology, Communication, and Audio-Visual (ITC/AV) solutions and services for all Federal Agencies and their approved contractors. FAIR OPPORTUNITY

Orders issued under NASA SEWP VI are subject to the Fair Opportunity procedures as prescribed by FAR 16.505(b). FAR 16.505(b) requires that each contractor be given a fair opportunity to be considered for orders exceeding the micro-purchase threshold issued under multiple-award contracts. Under SEWP VI, all Contract Holders within an applicable individual category must be considered.

Contracting Officers have broad discretion in developing appropriate order placement procedures and must document the basis for award decisions as required by the FAR. The NASA SEWP Quote Request Tool (QRT) is the recommended mechanism for conducting this activity and supporting associated acquisition and decision documentation.
