Business Analyst

Digital Strategy is seeking a Business Data Analyst with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to support federal clients in performing data analysis, developing executive-level reports and dashboards, and providing strategic data insights. The ideal candidate will not only analyze data but also drive data-informed decision-making, influence strategy, and mentor junior analysts.

Due to federal guidelines, US Citizenship is required and candidates must be able to pass a federal background check.

Specific duties will include but are not limited to the following:

Lead data requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders to define key metrics, reporting needs, and business insights.
Develop and implement data models, mappings, and performance measurement frameworks that align with business goals.
Extract, transform, and analyze structured and unstructured data to identify trends, patterns, and business opportunities.
Design and implement data models, data mappings, and performance measurement frameworks to support business objectives.
Act as a strategic advisor, providing data-driven recommendations that influence business and operational decisions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technical and leadership teams, to optimize data solutions and improve data-driven decision-making.
Mentor and guide junior analysts, sharing best practices in data analysis, reporting, and stakeholder management.
Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on client processes, data sources, and reporting requirements, providing guidance to stakeholders and team members.
Support data governance initiatives, including standardization, quality assurance, and alignment with data architecture best practices.

Position Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
Ten (10) years of total work experience, including requirements gathering and data analysis. Two (2) years of experience may be substituted for Master’s degree.
5+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, and reporting.
5+ years of experience in developing and delivering business/functional requirements.
Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, macros, and data visualization.
Hands-on experience with BI tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Oracle Analytics Services (OAS), Tableau, or similar.
Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
Proven ability to translate data insights into business strategy and influence key decision-makers.
Experience leading or mentoring junior analysts, providing guidance on best practices and technical skills.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to work independently and drive initiatives, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Due to federal project guidelines, US citizenship is a requirement.
